TIQC Virtual Internship – Spring 2021

Are you looking to apply and accelerate your learning? Are you prepared for the future of work? Do you want to learn new digital skills? We invite you to apply for a paid virtual internship at the Tech Incubator at Queens College (TIQC).  We welcome students from all majors.

  • You must be a matriculated undergraduate student at Queens College.
  • You are able to work 10-15 hours/week in the Spring 2021 semester.

Program Description

The TIQC Internship Program will provide experiential learning and internship opportunities to Queens College students:

  • The internship is virtual
  • Each internship period will be 10 weeks (up to 150 hours)
  • The students will receive pre-internship, on-demand and on-the-job training
  • The students will have access to the TIQC mentor network
  • Pre- and post-evaluation will be conducted with each student

Capability Development

Through pre-internship training, on-demand and on the job training, and mentoring, the student interns will develop the following capabilities and skills:


  • Workplace communication and etiquettes
  • Working collaboratively in a team
  • Time management
  • Agile project management
  • Understanding customer needs
  • Identifying and reframe problems and propose solutions


  • Basic coding skills for non-CS students
  • Basic design concepts and design thinking
  • Website design and development
  • Social media and digital marketing
  • Data analytics and data visualization

Programming languages and tools:

  • WordPress and PHP
  • Python
  • Google Workplace
  • Team collaboration and communication: Slack, Trello, Mural, etc.
  • Video conferencing: Zoom, Microsoft Team, Google Meet, etc.
  • Digital marketing: Canva, HootSuite, Later, MailChimp, Eventbrite, etc.
